Updated 27 October 2026. SoFi Technologies (NASDAQ: SOFI) traded at $16.02 in premarket trading at 9:10 am ET on Tuesday, up about 10.8 percent from Monday’s $14.46 close (Yahoo Finance), after third-quarter results beat estimates and the company raised its 2026 revenue guide to about $5.04 billion (SoFi release). Verdict: a clean beat with a bigger guide and a first 2027 outlook. Adjusted EPS of $0.18 topped the $0.17 consensus, adjusted net revenue rose 44 percent to $1.37 billion against about $1.25 billion expected (Investing.com), and the stock is trying to recover most of October’s slide. Reference levels: $13.86 below, $20 above.
Key facts
- Price: SOFI $16.02 premarket at 9:10 am ET on 27 October, against Monday’s $14.46 close (range $14.40-$14.67) (Yahoo Finance). Investing.com put the premarket gain at 11.34 percent, at $16.10, as of 8:41 am ET; thin pre-open prints can reverse at the bell.
- Revenue: GAAP net revenue $1.385 billion and adjusted net revenue $1.371 billion, both up 44 percent from a year earlier and a quarterly record (SoFi release, 8-K).
- Profit: net income $241.0 million, up 73 percent; diluted EPS $0.18 against $0.11; adjusted EBITDA $469.8 million, up 70 percent, a 34 percent margin (SoFi release).
- Versus expectations: consensus was $0.17 of EPS and about $1.25 billion of revenue (Investing.com). Investing.com counts 11 straight quarters of EPS beats.
- Members and products: a record 1.2 million new members took the total to 17.07 million, up 35 percent; products rose 44 percent to 26.67 million (SoFi release).
- Lending: originations of $16.9 billion: personal loans $12.6 billion (up 69 percent), student loans $2.9 billion (up 96 percent), home loans $1.4 billion (up 44 percent). The Loan Platform Business originated $3.8 billion for third parties and added $153.4 million of adjusted net revenue (SoFi release).

- Guidance: 2026 adjusted net revenue about $5.04 billion, up from $4.75-$4.85 billion (Investing.com; TipRanks), and adjusted EBITDA about $1.66 billion; net income of about $840 million and EPS of about $0.61 are unchanged. First 2027 outlook: about $6.4 billion of adjusted net revenue, $2.24 billion of adjusted EBITDA, $1.28 billion of net income and $0.90 of EPS (SoFi release).
What the quarter showed
The beat came from lending and fees. Personal-loan originations rose 69 percent to $12.6 billion and student-loan originations almost doubled, while fee-based revenue reached $570.6 million, 42 percent of the total (SoFi release). The Loan Platform Business, where SoFi originates loans for third-party buyers instead of holding them, contributed $153.4 million on $3.8 billion of volume. That is the capital-light part of the model investors watch most closely, because it earns fees without adding to the balance sheet.
The weak spot is the Technology Platform segment: revenue of $87.4 million was down 24 percent from a year earlier, though up 3 percent on the second quarter (SoFi release). Financial Services revenue rose 25 percent to $525.1 million. CEO Anthony Noto said “Our conviction in the opportunity ahead has never been greater” in the release, and the guidance backs the line with numbers: the revenue guide went up by roughly $190-$290 million in one step.
Why the stock gapped higher
SoFi went into the print near its lows. The stock closed at $14.22 on 14 October and touched $13.86 intraday on 15 October, its 52-week low, and Monday’s $14.46 close was about 25 percent below the $19.18 close of 27 August (Yahoo Finance). The 52-week high is $32.73 (Investing.com). Two things changed on Tuesday morning. The quarter beat on both lines, and the 2027 outlook gives the market a number to value: at $16.02 the stock trades at about 17.8 times the 2027 EPS target of $0.90 and about 2.1 times tangible book of $7.48 a share.
Sell-side views were split going in. Monness, Crespi, Hardt started coverage with a Buy and a $20 target the day before the report, while KBW kept a Sell and cut its target to $15, citing higher rates and fair-value accounting risk (Investing.com). SoFi after Q3: bull, base and bear
| Scenario | SOFI | What has to happen | Anchor |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bear | $13.86 | The gap fades as it has after some past beats, rates stay higher after the Fed, and fair-value marks on the loan book worry investors. | The 15 October intraday low and 52-week low, about 13.5 percent below the $16.02 premarket price. |
| Base | $15.00-$17.16 | The stock keeps part of the gap and trades the Fed and the call commentary. | KBW’s $15 target to the $17.16 close of 22 September, where the October slide began. |
| Bull | $20 | Investors start valuing the 2027 targets and the Loan Platform Business keeps growing. | Monness, Crespi, Hardt’s $20 target, about 25 percent above premarket and about 22 times 2027 EPS guidance. |
The bear case sits below Tuesday’s premarket price. These are reference levels measured from verified quotes and published targets, not forecasts.
What to watch
- Tuesday’s session: whether the premarket gap, built through the 8 am ET call, holds after the open, and whether volume confirms it.
- Tuesday after the close: Robinhood’s third-quarter results, the closest listed read-across for retail fintech.
- Wednesday 28 October, 2 pm ET: the Fed decision; rate expectations drive personal-loan demand and the fair value of SoFi’s loans.
- Analyst notes: target changes after the 2027 outlook, especially from the Sell side.
- Crypto and tokenised deposits: SoFi’s tokenised-deposit launch from 22 October is a newer line to watch for adoption numbers.
Quick take: SoFi beat with $0.18 of EPS and $1.37 billion of adjusted revenue, raised its 2026 revenue guide to about $5.04 billion and set a 2027 target of $0.90 of EPS. The stock traded about 11 percent higher premarket at $16.02. Holding the gap keeps $15-$17.16 in play; a re-rating on the 2027 numbers opens $20; a fade back through Monday’s close opens the $13.86 low.
